Shared Risk Refund ProgramA Special IVF Treatment and Refund ProgramThe IntegraMed IVF Refund Program known the as Shared Risk Program, was developed to reduce a couple's financial anxiety by fixing the costs associated with multiple IVF cycles. The program maximizes your chances of success with IVF through a 6-cycle treatment package and minimizes your financial risk by fixing the cost of treatment AND providing a refund if treatment is not successful. You can give IVF the best possible chance, while preserving your financial resources for other family building options should IVF fail. Our success rate is high. About 70% of patients admitted to this program are successful - meaning they take home a baby.

The DetailsSuccessful infertility treatment means having a baby. The reality is that most patients will need more than one IVF cycle to be successful. In fact, patients willing to commit to multiple IVF cycles can dramatically increase their chances of getting what they want - a baby. If money were no object, committing to a multi-cycle IVF treatment plan would be a much easier decision. Unfortunately, the high cost of multiple IVF attempts and the reality that success is not guaranteed prevents most people from maximizing their chances of success with IVF. The IntegraMed Shared Risk Refund Program was designed to address this dilemma.
How Does the Program Work?If you qualify for the Program, you may attempt up to 3 IVF cycles and 3 FETs at RSC for a fixed fee. When you take a baby home from the hospital, IntegraMed retains the fee. If treatment is ultimately unsuccessful, you will receive a refund of 70% of the fee paid -- less than the cost of a single IVF cycle! If you are enrolled in the program and are utilizing donor eggs, you will receive a refund of 100% of the fee paid. Who Qualifies for the Program?Once IVF is recommended by one of our physicians, IntegraMed's clinical staff will review the following information to determine if a patient is an appropriate candidate for our Shared Risk Refund Program:
Acceptance into this Program is at the sole and subjective opinion of IntegraMed America. Please remember that IntegraMed is making a determination about your participation in a financial program, not a clinical determination of your ultimate chance of success with IVF. Your physician is not involved in the decision making process about whether or not you are accepted. There is no cost or obligation to apply for the Program. Over the past four years, approximately 70% of patients that applied have been accepted into the IntegraMed Shared Risk Refund Program. What is the Cost of the Program? The cost of the IntegraMed Shared Risk Refund Program varies depending on the woman's age and treatment type. For women under 35, the Program fee is about the cost of two cycles.
Note Donors must be under 35 years of age to qualify for this program Costs not included in the Shared Risk Refund fee:
A couple achieving a pregnancy on the first attempt will pay more with this program than the traditional fee-for-service payment methods. However, if subsequent attempts are not successful, 70 - 90% of the costs are refunded to you - a substantial savings. What is the Benefit of the Program?
IVF treatment is very costly and success cannot be guaranteed. Most
of our patients are concerned about the possibility of spending
tens of thousands of dollars and not achieving their goal of having
a baby. The IntegraMed Shared Risk Refund Program helps patients
manage this financial risk and in many cases saves our patients
thousands of dollars -- even for those ultimately successful in IVF
treatment. Outlined below are two scenarios that clearly show the
potential benefits of participating in Shared Risk.
Cost of Traditional Fee for Service vs. Shared Risk Refund Program**
Some couples may not have frozen embryos to transfer after completed a stimulated cycle with the program. Exampled based on women under age 35 completing a stimulated IVF cycle and FET cycle. Costs and money "at risk" vary depending on age and additional treatments. Withdrawal or termination from the Program or not pregnant after third cycle.
