When first determining the reason for infertility, we perform two tests:
If necessary, we may also check the Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) level of the woman to better understand how the ovaries are functioning.
Additional Testing
Due to state and federal regulations governing infectious disease, we are also required to test for the following prior to beginning any IVF treatment. This testing is important to prevent transmitting harmful illnesses.
Chlamydia
Cytomegalovirus (CMV)
Gonorrhea
Hepatitis B & C
Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)
Human T-Cell Lymphocyte Virus Types 1 & 2
Syphilis
We also perform immunity testing, including measles, German measles, varicella (chicken pox), and rubella.
Genetic Testing
Carrier testing and prenatal genetic diagnosis, including preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) can also be performed to help ensure the highest possible success rates and to prevent the potentially harmful transmission of hereditary conditions.
